Setting up a FitBit Inspire for my 12 year old on Family Account - thinks it's an Ace?

Hello all,

I am trying to set up my son with his new FitBit Inspire on his iPad. I set up a Family account, and created a child account for him. But when I go to his child account and click "Set Up," it only presents me with two device options: 1) Ace 2 - for kids! and 2) Ace - for kids! And since neither is correct, it fails to find my son's Inspire. Any ideas how to proceed?

Thanks so much,

David in Seattle

Accepted Solutions

Hi @dangcookie  due to laws across the world, children are prohibited from having an online account and using these devices. The Ace series was made especially to allow children six and up to use these services. Fitbit is abiding by those laws. Lying about the age is the only solution, but would create a problem since the algorithms are made based on gender, age, height and weight. So that would give completely wrong data for your child. Lying about the age is the only workaround if you're not using the Ace.
