Single/Double tap won't wake up the screen

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just got the inspire HR and updated to latest firmware immediately. I found that the screen isn't waking when tapped once or twice. It does wake when wrist is rotated or when the physical button is pressed.

Please help me with this.

@Nischay Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me help you with your screen wake. Where are you tapping the screen? The key is to tap it at the base of the screen. If the issue persist please restart it by following these instructions.

Let me know how it goes.

I tried tapping at the bottom of the screen. Still didn't wake up. And I've already tried restarting.

I have a similar problem.

The only way to turn screen on seems to be a double tap. However, it only works with almost agresive taps, and only when the screen face upwards (to the sky).

Please, before recommending to restart the device, explain us what should be the expected behaviour and the exact ways to turn the screen on under different options.

It's impressive how the forums are full of issues with Fitbit devices.

I was having the same problem, and then read tap the bottom of the screen.

There is a need to define bottom of screen. My experience is, tap just below the lower part of the button on the side. But even then, I can't say it works more than 50% of the time.

but is it a single or a double tap?

Does not work for me. I think every device has its own custom failures
which we think that we manage somehow, in an imaginary way.

After experimenting, I figured it out.  To get the screen to turn on with a double tap, you need to double tap quickly.  Too long a pause in between taps will not work.  The taps have to be firm.  Too light of a tap will not work.  It seems more consistent to get it to turn on with a double tap closer to the bottom portion of the display although I did get the screen to turn on by tapping the top and middle portions as well a few times.  After a bit more experimenting, i noticed that this is sporadic and not consistent.  Sometimes I have to double tap around the screen a few times before it comes on.
