I don’t know if it’s supposed to be like that but my sleep icon on my Fitbit doesn’t show anything and I can’t tap on it. It’s just grey

Hi @vanloon, it's always great to see you around. I'll be glad to give you a hand with the missing information on your Inspire HR.

Other users have had good results with the steps suggested here. Changing device settings to "sensitive", is working for users having missing hours (or gaps in time) or when Inspire HR is not recording sleep at all after following this instructions

We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience while we're working on finding the root cause of this and look forward to getting you back on track.

Please let us know if there's anything we can do to assist you in the meantime.

I'll be around.

Hi,  I'm having the same issue. All of the icons are lit up, except the sleep icon.   It does not appear to be picking up the sleep.  I have tried a soft reset several times, I have changed the setting from normal to sensitive and nothing.  This is a problem because I'm in a wellness program that requires sleep tracking. At first, I thought the inspire HR was great for darn near everything, including sleep tracking. Now it doesn't for that all so is worse than the much less expensive gizmo I used before  Help!

Hi, can you please advise if this issue was fixed? I am having the same problem.

Thanks

I’ve only had this Fitbit 2 days and bought it primarily for sleep tracking. The first night it worked fine.  Last night the icon on the f.b. was grayed out. Sleep Information was on the app today but not sure it could be trusted.  Followed the moderators instructions on the forum but is still grayed out. Didn’t see any reply that this issue has been resolved. Thinking of returning for refund.

I am having same issue

Also did soft reset.  Sleep tile still not working. A new Fitbit as well. Now what?

If you have set sleep times on your app, remove it. I had the same trouble but if you remove it and let the Fitbit pick up your sleep times on its own, it works perfect. Once you then sync with the app in the morning, then your sleep time will show up on your Fitbit instead of the greyed out moon. I did this 3 days ago and after weeks of bad sleep patterns it is now working great. Just remember untill you sync the moon will be grey 😁😁😁

You know, interesting you should say that! Because it worked the first night fine but not the second (or last night) I began thinking what did I set up in the sleep settings that I didn't set up for the first night? and that was it.  So I was going to do as you suggested anyway! With your post, I'm now quite hopeful. Thank you so much!! (by the way, that first day I had it before I changed the setting you mentioned, it also picked up a short afternoon nap of 23 minutes---even though I've read you have to be asleep for about 3 hours before it'll record stages....so hmmmm) Thanks!

Mine is definitely working better.  It does grey out when I'm in the sleeping zone--like when I wake up briefly and check to see how much sleep I've gotten so far.....can't find out 'cause it's grey....I remember it did work the first night before I set the sleep goals.  I only took the sleep/wake time off the goals so today I took all sleep goals off and will see if it works tonight.  But at least, once I'm up for awhile and it's synced to my IPad, the tile on my watch is no longer greyed out and shows me the hours I've slept. And it's picking up short naps again......Keep working at it and Good Luck!

Fantastic! They know we are having trouble with this. Maybe they finally got a handle on the problem.

Sorry for those of you still having problems. Do try Halifax's suggestion of unpairing and pairing bluetooth. If that doesn't work, here are some insights and then suggested steps. First, the icon may grey out on the watch face while it's calculating, if it's still figuring out if you are awake for good or if it's just a short wake time in your sleep cycle. For example, I'm generally a person who wakes for an hour or so in the middle of the night. Once I'm up for that long, the icon will show me how long I've slept (so far.) Then I go back to sleep until I wake in the morning. Again the icon will be greyed out (or it shows me the last computation if it's the same day) until it figures I'm truly awake, maybe 20 minutes or so, then the icon shows me the total time I've slept, for example 7 hours (4 hours the first sleep, 3 hours the second. On the app, you can see the two sleep times but you'll only see the stages of sleep if you've slept for more than 3 hours. On to suggestions: 1. go into the app on your device and clear all sleep goals: time asleep goal; bedtime; wake up time and reminder. I still have receive sleep insights on. 2. turn your bluetooth off and then turn your device (phone, ipad, etc) completely off and then turn back on. Turn bluetooth back on. Go to app and make sure your sleep goals are off. (they'll read either set goal or set time and reminder button should be off.) Reset your fitbit watch. (Instructions on this are found on the fitbit help website.) Pray! and Good luck! By the way, I love the new (to me) info which tells the estimated oxygen variation--great for those who worry about sleep apnea!

How do you remove set sleep times on the Fitbit App?

Can't help much with that one mainly because I can't remember exactly what I did. I know it took a little time and frustration. I had set the goals and recall there wasn't a simple delete goals options. I had to go into the edit goals option and zero out whatever I could (eg.move time to 0:00 if available--this may depend on your specific device.)
