Sleep tracking not showing up on my fitbit only on dashboard

Hi, 

my fitbit won’t show me my sleep only if I check it on the app. 

On my device it has the moon and a line under it any idea on how I can get it to show up on my device?

I returned mine and will buy a different type of tracker.  The Inspire HR was just too much trouble.

I am having the same problem. When is Fitbit going answer this question? Restarting the device does not help.

I got a replacement and now it is 2 nights out of 3 for tracking.

I attached it to the charger, held the button for 5 seconds until it rebooted with a smiley face and the sleep tracker came back. No more greyed out moon.

Having read through a few of the replies, this is what I did. Like the others have said:

a) plug in the charger

b) press and hold the side button for 5 seconds - smiley face shows and vibrates after it restarts

I synced my Inspire and no change to the stats. Then I did this:

c) with the Inspire in my hand and not charging, I pressed and held the side button for about 10 seconds. It went in the setting mode and then went blank while I was still holding the button. When I released the button and then checked my stats... Sleep and Weight showed!!

I hope this helps out others.

Wish someone could have figured this out sooner.  I returned my Fitbit and purchased another brand.  I have no problems with it.

I'm having the same issue. The moon is showing on the screen of my fitbit but it is not highlighted.

Mine was not working for sleep for a long time.
I kept records and mine was eventually replaced.

Hi!! Is there an actual official solution to this? Tried everything on this thread and it’s still

not working. Went online chat hoping to have more help but the rep was not very useful. Didn’t provide any help and provided me with instructions even after I told them that I have tried to restart.  He was even trying to get me to end the chat even though I said that it is not acceptable to tell me to wait for a resolution when this is a know issue. Not the kind of customer service I was expecting!

My wife and I both have Fitbit Inspires. The sleep tracking is not being reported on the device but is on the phone and computer app. Google location is on for bot of us. This used to work before. Please let us know what is causing this issue.

So I honestly think I bought a “lemon” if you will, with my first Fitbit. It ended up dying, and when I plugged it in to charge, it never came back to life... until, of course he went out and bought me a new one (which I have had NO issues with.. including the sleep tracking being visible on my wrist..) and then one day one of my alarms decided to go off on my previous Fitbit.. so weird.. also annoying.. but I LOVE the one I have now- it’s the same version and everything. I just think maybe all the kinks weren’t worked out yet? Wish I had better info for ya, but I can def understand the irritation!

FitBits dying seems to be a pattern. I am on my third one that doesn't really work the way it should. I won't be ripped off again!

Check to see if the devise is set for your wrist or on clip. I have the inspire and if it is changed to clip - for bike riding- it will not record sleep

Thanks for the response but the fitbit inspire HR does not have the clip
function so still looking for a fix.
