SmartTrack is not recognizing my activities on my Fitbit Inspire HR

Hi Fitbit community,

I went for two runs - one yesterday and one today and for both runs -my Fitbit unfortunately failed to track the runs via smart track. I needed it to track the average heartrate for a defined period of time but it has failed to track and apparently under the "track exercise" it showed there was no exercise done for the last 3 days but that is not true. I have rebooted both the tracker and my phone - the smart track

Under the main page - the tracker still shows the no. of steps for all the three days.

Please advise how this non functioning of the smart track can be resolved.

Thanks.

Hi there, @CWong1. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Inspire HR before reaching out.

Please know that most Fitbit devices automatically recognize and record high-movement activities through the SmartTrack feature. To start, the default duration settings of your Fitbit device is 15 minutes long. However, you can also choose which activities your device tracks automatically, or change the amount of time needed to record the activity. To do so, please follow the next steps:

  1. Tap the Today tab , then tap the Exercise tile.
  2. Tap the gear icon in the top right.
  3. Tap an exercise, and adjust the duration or turn off Auto-recognize.

You can learn more about the SmartTrack feature in this link How do I track my activity with my Fitbit device?

Keep in mind that you can also use the Exercise app to start and stop a workout. For more information, see How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?

On a side note, bear in mind that when you're tracking activities using SmartTrack distance won't be tracked. Please confirm that you're using the exercise app to capture real-time stats, including heart-rate data, calories burned, and elapsed time, for specific workouts.

Thanks. It seems that the smart track returned to its tracking mode today. I’ll continue to monitor and will know whether it is back to normal when I go for my next run. Thanks.
