Can anyone tell me how to reset calories burned to zero please so I can get an accurate  reading. I had the watch off all day charging and done nothing and its saying I burned 1500 calories. Sick of the issues already. I wish I had ordered something  different

That is probably correct.  Those are you BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) calories that you are always burning just by being alive.  Fitbit credits those even when you are not wearing the tracker.  You cannot eliminate them.

I can't judge how reasonable 1500 calories is without knowing what time of day that was, and your physical data, weight, sex, age...

To see what Fitbit uses for your BMR, look at calorie burned chart for overnight while asleep.  It shows calories burned in 15 minute periods.  Also you can just google "BMR calculator" and find several easy on-line calculators to check your BMR.  They might vary a bit, but are all relatively close.  Typically BMR calories are more than half the calories one burns in a day.
