Three times in the last couple of weeks while exercising, my Fitbit has suddenly vibrated signaling I achieved my step goal, which is an artificial increase of 3-4 thousand steps. After a few syncs is fixed back to the correct steps. Any idea why or how to fix it?

@Hjohnson37 It's great to have you here! 

Let me help you with your Inspire HR showing a high amount of steps. This is odd. Do you have any third party app linked to your account? Have you manually logged any activities on your account? Could you share a screenshot of what you are seeing on your account and on the activities area if this happens again? You can try restarting your tracker by following these instructions.
