Swim tracking with Inspire on clip

I swim twice a week and I’ve always wanted to track this activity. Unfortunately my swimming pool forbids the use of smart bands and smart watches because they could hit and hurt swimmers on the next lane.

When the Inspire came out and I saw that it could be inserted in a clip and that it could track swimming I thought it was the ideal device for me! I used it this evening for the first time, attaching the clip on my swim suit. Unfortunately, when I got out of the swimming pool I saw that the Inspire tracked my activity as light walking. Is there any way I could tell the Inspire what activity I am starting? I really like it and it would be a pity that one of the main features I bought it for does not work!

Hi @lordb19 Unfortunately the Inspire needs to track your arm movements to know you are swimming, so there is no way it will track swimming from a clip. The Inspire HR has exercise shortcuts you could use to start a swim manually, but not the Inspire, and the HR model does not fit the clip accessory. In any case the HR model worn on yiur body would have no way of knowing how many laps you swam without being able to feel your arm movements.  So sadly I dont think it will do what you want.
