Sync totally dependent on internet connectivity

To me, there should be two independent phases of synchronization: 1) Synchronization between the device and the app over bluetooth. 2) Synchronization between the app and fitbit servers over the internet.

Recently, I was in a different time zone in an area with no internet for days. I had changed the time zone on my iPhone but could not sync the time change between my phone and my Inspire HR. Local changes should not require internet connection.

Even when I once again had internet connectivity, it  took several apparently successful manual syncs over half an hour to get the time change corrected (device statistics updated with no indication that an error occurred). I have become used to using the device as my watch. Next time, I will know to carry along a watch and leave the fitbit at home.

There's a popular feature suggestion for this which you might like to add your vote to:

Note, though, Fitbit's comment that they currently do not have plans to make this change. Perhaps with more votes they may change their mind.
