Thought this would be a replacement for my 'one' but I'm not inspired or impressed

My last fitbit one died (and of course its just out of warranty)

I have had 3 over the last 7 years, and they have been really good.

I wanted a replacement clip device, not a watch, so I thought the Inspire would be a good match as it has a clip attachment, but having got it I find it doesn't measure stairs !!!!. Seriously, this device cost MORE the 'one' ever did (even allowing for inflation), AND I had to pay extra for the clip as its an 'accessory', only to find this device lacks a really useful feature.

How come fitbit have gone backwards ?

Will you ever produce a tracker that is a useful and valuable as the 'one' was ?

Who was the 'idiot' in management who decided to discontinue the 'one' ?

Who was the 'genius' in management who thought a basic tracer should lack the functionality to track stairs climbed, and then charge more for it, and top it off with making even more by selling the clip separately (at what is a silly price for a bit of cheap plastic and metal)

I'm neither 'delighted' or 'inspired' with my latest purchase. Wish I could return it and get a proper clip tracker (if one exists anymore)

"regrets not having done more research and not considering that fitbit could make such a daft decision"

It does say on the sales page exactly what it does and stairs are not listed.

Sorry.

I totally agree with you. The original Fitbit One was a really good device. I have gone through a few of them over the years, and now my last One is likely to die soon. Unfortunately Fitbit has never produced a proper replacement for it.

First there was the Flex, but it did not track stairs. I ended up getting a Charge then also for the HR, but I do not like to always wear it on the wrist as I tend to like wearing watches. So, back to using my One...

It seems as if for the most part the Inspire does improve on the One, with it being waterproof and having the automatic sleep tracking, but for me both of those features are actually less important than the stair count.

Please Fitbit, develop a new Inspire that also tracks stairs!

It would be 'ok' if it had 'Stairs.'

I cant find anything that's 'better' in the Inspire compared to the 'One'

  • The display is a bit smaller,
  • the silent alarm is actually 'silent' (is that by design?) the 'One' had a nice buzz to it, which is useful in a clip device. Flashing the screen maybe good on the wrist but not in your pocket !
  • The inspire clip looks really cheap and probably wont last long either. My 'One' clips were nice and lasted longer than the actual 'One', ( but that was my fault as I drowned my first two in the washing machine ... )
  • The 'One' also included a sleep armband in the package
  • The 'Inspire' is more expensive! (plus you have to buy the clip on top)

Hope your remaining 'One' lasts long enough until Fitbit to come up was a proper replacement for it. I'm hoping for a 'waterproof' version of the One .. that would make me very happy!

THANK YOU!  I lost my One while traveling abroad and I was looking to replace it with and Inspire.  Now, I am going to have really think about this one seriously because I preferred the clip function and I have tons of watches that I would prefer wearing that any one's fitness tracker.
