Tracking hiit workouts with Inspire HR?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’ve recently purchased a Fitbit hr inspire and it doesn’t seem to be tracking my HIIT workouts accurately. First time I worked out for 30mins (not including a warm up and cool down) and it only logged it as 20mins of activity. It logged as 126 calories which also seems low considering it was ver high intensity (lots of burpees etc) and when I went for a slow 30min jog the same day this logged as 273 calories.

Next workout it logged the time as 34minutes (about right) but didn’t save this as an exercise in the exercise section. So I can see the active minutes and that my heart rate was up, but it’s not logged as an exercise so I can’t see calories burned etc. I went for a walk the same day and this did log as an exercise.

Any ideas why or suggestions to make accurate for hiit workouts? Believe I’m wearing in the correct part of my wrist etc. For hiit workouts I’m doing circuits with 30secs on 15secs off, variety of body weight exercises.

@Chloeohc Thanks for stopping by!

Let me help you with tracking your HIIT activities with your Inspire HR. Your device detects activities based on the motion on your arm. The automatic detection is a feature called SmartTrack. For example when using the elliptical machine make sure you have the moving bars so your device detects the motion and records the activity itself, once an Elliptical activity is saved on your account it should show on the Recent Exercise area. If your heart rate is high but there isn't much motion (yoga, weight lifting, etc.) then these activities will be difficult to be detected by your device. Still you can manually log your activity so you have a record on your account or use the activity mode on the device itself.

I also moved your post to the correct board.

Let me know how it goes.
