Turn off unused as auto track, lose the activity altogether?

My inspire was perfectly detecting elliptical and walking at first, but now it thinks I'm doing aerobics or taking long walks when I'm on the elliptical. If I shut off the tracking on aerobics, is there the chance that I'll lose that it will just not track those calories at all instead of assigning a different exercise type?

Also, if my calories are constantly being burnt and tracked, does manually entering exercise duplicate calories?!

@BenjaminL It's nice to see you on the Community. Thanks for the details mentioned.

Before trying anything else, I would like you to restart your Inspire and then lower the activity recognition to 10 minutes for elliptical. However, if you keep experiencing the same, you could edit your activity name and change it to elliptical.

Also, if my calories are constantly being burnt and tracked, does manually entering exercise duplicate calories?! If you use your Fitbit Inspire to track your activity, you don't need to manually log the activity on your Dashboard because this will duplicate the data that was tracked.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

That's how I already have it set.

So in the long run, the name of the exercise has no bearing on how many calories are calculated then?

@BenjaminL Thanks for getting back. SmartTrack will detect any activity based on the movement of their arms and the duration set in the Fitbit app, the calories are taken mostly for active minutes.

Since you're having issues with Elliptical, try to place your arms on the moving handles as if you use the ones that aren't moving, the activity will not be recognized.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.
