For the first 2 days that I used fitbit, i was able to see my sleep score. However, for the last 2 days, I wasn’t. I tried what some of you here suggested which are to log out and log in again, and disconnect and reconnect. Can you please help me with this?

Hi, @Elizabeth2604 , thank you so much for sharing the photo.  That makes it very clear the issue that you are having.

For the first nights you are getting the expected sleep info and for the subsequent two nights you have received what Fitbit calls “simplified” sleep stats.  These are the sleep stats that you would receive if you had a basic Fitbit that was unable to track your heartrate.

First, please do check that the heartrate is set to ON.  Swipe down on your Inspire HR screen until you come to “settings”, tap on “settings” and go to the Heartrate.  Make sure it is set to ON and that the green light on the back of the Fitbit are turned on.

Even with HR turned on sleep stages can be missing occasionally. According to Fitbit, these are the most usual reasons:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Hopefully your last two nights was just a glitch and will not continue to happen to you.

Obviously you don’t have a lot of control over your wrist position while you are sleeping, but do check that the band is comfortably secure without being overly tight, and ideally the battery should be above 15% (above 30% is ideal).

Manually starting sleep probably does not apply to you - this is something that was required in the very early Fitbits (they were pioneers in sleep tracking) so early users were in the habit of starting sleep in their app and they needed to learn to trust that the new Fitbits did it automatically.

I would suggest continuing to wear it, bearing in mind this advice, and reporting back whether you are able to get the expected sleep stages info tonight and the nights following,

I think you mentioned that you had also given your Inspire HR a restart - that is always a good, first troubleshooting step whenever your Fitbit is not performing as expected.

I hope this helps!  Let us know how it goes.

Hi, @Elizabeth2604 , which Fitbit app do you use (iOS, Android or Windows)?  Can you see the sleep icon on your app?

I had the same problem and tried all these suggestions; eventually I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and it finally worked. Just in case anyone else has a similar issue 🙂
