Walk was not detected, step count dropped after logging

I went on a two hour walk today and was at over 10,000 steps. When I was done walking I noticed my Inspire 2 hadn’t detected that I was on a walk although it had counted my steps and logged the change in my heartbeat. I logged the walk manually, and while my active minutes for the day went up by 12, my step count dropped to 3376 for the day and only 1893 steps in the two hour walk. It synced with the Fitbit device and not it also says I have 3376 steps.

When you log the walk manually, it ignores everything that was actually recorded, and overwrites that by whatever you input for the parameters.  It is as if Fitbit assumes the reason you are manually logging the workout after-the-fact is because you were not wearing the tracker at the time.  That is always the case when you manually log a workout, so if you do log a workout, make sure you have a good reason for it, and pay particular attention to entering the parameters as accurately as you can.  Even if it doesn't log the walk or other workout, it will still add to daily totals correctly.

Sometimes it takes a little while after the walk end for it to register as a walk, and it has to have done a sync too.

Walks usually do get self-recognized, but you always do have the option on any workout of using the Exercise App to be sure the workout is recognized.

But even if I hadn’t been wearing the device during a two hour walk, I’m pretty sure erasing most of the steps outside those two hours and counting fewer than 2000 steps in two hours of walking is a bug.

As for fewer than 2000 steps in 2 hours, that depends on the parameters you input when you logged the walk.

And I have no idea how many steps you had before you started your walk.  I guess you are saying you already had more than 3376 steps before you started the walk.  Is that right?
