Walking and outdoor bike not auto recognising

Fitbit inspire (not HR)

Firmware: 20001.63.5

App: iOS 3.12.1 (915)

I bought this Fitbit 5 the days ago and had auto recognise (10 mins) switched on for all activities. Initially it did not recognise anything at all  but after repeatedly restarting the device it now recognises running, but not walking or outdoor bike.

I was wearing it as a clip and on wrist and changed the settings accordingly and now I’m going to switch wrists and change the setting but it really shouldn’t have to do that to make the software work.

I’ve tried repeatedly restarting again but no joy! Please help!

@Chekkers It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your activity detection and thank you for trying different modes on your device. Your device detects activities based on the motion on your arm. The automatic detection is a feature called SmartTrack. For example when using the elliptical machine make sure you have the moving bars so your device detects the motion and record the activity itself, once an Elliptical activity is saved on your account it should show on the Recent Exercise area. Make sure your arms are swinging or moving while walking/running so the device can detect the motion.

Let me know how it goes.
