Afternoon. Does anybody know if my inspire hr will work on my upper arm? When I’m at work I’m not allowed to have anything below my elbows. So would like to try wearing my Fitbit on my upper arm tucked under my uniform sleeve (rather than in my pocket). I have seen the hoween leather strap that has potential...wondered if anybody else had tried.
Thank you
Anna

@Annatdp Wrist worn trackers depend on movement to count steps. When you put your tracker on your upper arm, the accelerometer might not see the right kind of data to count it as a step -- depending on how much your arm moves with a step at work. It might undercount steps on your upper arm. Before you spend money on that leather band, can you try placing it in your sock with the HR sensor about an inch above your inside ankle? Amazon (US) has cheaper ankle bands if this works for you. I never tried this with an Inspire HR, but I experimented with a Charge 2/3 and a Versa or two. You might not get a heart rate trace if you have a lot of lower leg edema. I consistently got a heart rate trace with my experiments. Or try holding it with an athletic wrist band on your upper arm before buying the leather band.
Also, the specs don't say how long the actual band is, just the size range.
Some third party companies make upper arm bands for some Charge models. I didn't see one for an Inspire/Inspire HR.

Thank you for your help. I don’t have any oedema so should be accurate- but as I wear a dress & tights to work the tracker might look slightly odd on my ankle! Perhaps if it will be less accurate which is a good point you made I will leave it it for now. I will leave it in my pocket which seems to work for counting steps...although it still finds a heart beat!
