What does Nothing New Here mean ? 

It comes up instead of the time.

That message is for Notifications.  It probably means you have scrolled up one screen from the clock face.  From there, a swipe up should get you back to clock face.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I have swiped up and have tried swiping down. I get nothing.
