What's the best way to use two trackers?

I used to switch between my Zip and my Alta HR by syncing the one I was wearing then the other one.  It didn't matter if they were both in the same room.  I lost my Zip so bought an Inspire and a clip case.  Now when I sync my Inspire all is good until I sync my Alta HR again and I lose almost all the steps I took with the Inspire - I lost over 10,000 steps today.  How can I fix this and stop it from happening again?  I'm constantly in challenges so I'm not happy

It's great to see you around @Sonja66. Sorry for the delayed reply.

I appreciate the details mentioned, I'll be happy to clarify your question.

I would like you to make sure you're not using both trackers at the same time, just like you did with your Zip and Alta HR,  you can switch them to avoid overriding data. Please follow these tips to avoid this:

  • Wear a smaller device for all-day step counting and a larger device for workouts.
  • Wear a smaller device while you sleep.
  • Use MobileTrack if you forget your Fitbit device at home.
  • Switch between any devices you like. Your account can have one of each device model and MobileTrack.

When you use multiple devices, we combine their data and present the totals. For example, if the tracker you wore to the office counted 8000 steps and the tracker you wore during your evening run counted 9000, the total number of steps on your dashboard is 17,000. You can learn more about it by checking this article: Can I use more than one Fitbit device with the same account?

Let me know how it goes. I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Thanks for getting back to me.  I have already done everything you said.  I actually ended up chatting with Fitbit on Sunday.  Apparently it is a known issue with the Inspire.  Had I know this, I would have purchased the Inspire HR and given my Alta away but I was never made aware of the issue.  As it stands the Inspire is useless to me until a solution is created by Fitbit.

I have an Inspire HR and it overrides the steps and uses the smaller amount of steps from my Fitbit One
