We are very glad that you have joined our Family here in the Fitbit Forums @Danels!
It's great to know that you've just got your Fitbit Inspire. If you're getting a white line on your Fitbit's screen while you're setting it up, it might be updating the software. In some cases, it gets stock in in that process. But don't worry, you can check the steps suggested here: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device. I'm sure it will work after trying those instructions.
Keep me posted on the resolution.

Hi, just wondering if you were able to fix this? I got my new FitBit Inspire today & am having the exact same issue. The link in the previous post didn't help.

Same thing for me. It keeps telling me that my Inspire is up to date and doesn't need any updates. So...???

There is a major problem with the Fitbit Inspire HR trying to be added via the instructions that come with the device. Fitbit phone support is useless and needs to fix this ASAP. Maybe FITBIT tech needs to try and add an Inspire HR via a computer on Windows 10 using the APP. Also, can't do it on a windows 7 computer through the dashboard. The fitbit.com/setup is giving a 404 error but the Inspire HR needs that website. Please fix this as soon as possible. Fitbit is going to be sending out a lot of replacement Fitbits as their support is saying it is the Fitbit device. LETS GET THIS FIXED FITBIT.

I am having the exact same problem as those in the above post. I just got my new Inspire HR today, charged it and set it up according to the directions, and I'm getting the same white line. I tried a reset, and I tried deleting the device and reinstalling it, with the same result. Please let us ALL know what the fix is to this problem ASAP or I will be sending this back! Thank you!

I don’t know this for sure but try downloading the Fitbit app on your mobile device or a supported tablet. Try adding the device through the app. I think that will work. Your device should display a 4 Digit code that is to be entered into the app. I am going to try this on my friends Fitbit when I can get back to her probably on Monday. You will also need the Fitbit attached to the charging dongle which needs to be plugged in to a device as if you were charging it. I hope this makes sense.

Same problem here. Followed all the steps. Entered the four-digit code. Charged to 100%. All i get is a frozen white line. What a disappointment.
C'mon Fitbit. Help us out!

What device did you use to set it up?

UPDATE: I left it alone to charge more (it was only about 60% when I opened it). After about an hour, the thin line thickened a bit at one end, and I realized it was an installation progress line. The thicker line continued to grow for another hour or so until the update was complete. It would've saved a LOT of aggravation if Fitbit would just change the generic white line to something that actually indicates what it's doing.

I can solve your problem, sorry for taking an hour to get back to you.
Charge your Fitbit to 50% (at least). Then, using an Ipad or a phone, connect your Fitbit (don't forget to disconnect it from your laptop). Then get the update.
The update won't show up on a laptop, but it will on tablets or phones. That is the only problem with it all. It should work fine from there.
Have a great week!

What a hassle! I am so disappointed in my purchase. I will disconnect from my lap top. But my iphone 11 Pro does not show an update!

It is a firmware update for the Fitbit device. It usually doesn’t show up. My girlfriends Fitbit was at 60% before the update would download to the Fitbit. Also, if there is another inspire nearby in the house even in the next room it could affect the whole process. I was at my girlfriends and it was in another room and it was screwing up everything. I three it in my car. Also if their is an inspire in your account you need to remove it from the App.
My girlfriend is happy now that it all works but ended up throwing out probably a perfectly good Fitbit as Fitbit support said it was defective.

Maybe try restarting your fitbit? Hold the button down for a couple seconds until it shows the fitbit symbol and the link.

Same issue for me - it's at 85% charged and same frustrating white line. my phone app says nothing about a system install/refresh. It's been several hours now with the white line. I guess I'll see later today, but this has been terrible experience with fitbit. Clearly something about this model is completely screwed up. Fitbit better communicate and make it right.

Same issue here. I have spent about an hour and a half trying to figure out how to set up an Inspire and an account for my 10-year-old that he received for his birthday (ended up having to lie about his age and lose all privacy safeguards). Now this white line thing. Beyond frustrating! I want to throw the thing out the window.

Have you tried using a phone or tablet to set it up?
