I just got my fitbit a few weeks ago, and always removes it before I go to sleep. I do this beforee 12:00 so that it will my stats reset to 0 when I wake up. However, when I take it in the morning, I always notice that there are already calories burnt even when I'm not wearing it (around 500 to 600). How do I prevent this from happening?

Hello @aesop0 and welcome to the Community. Those calories are your BMR calories. Fitbit will count them even if you aren't wearing it. Your Fitbit is working normally. Your calories burn is the total of BMR and activity calories at the end of the day.
All data resets at midnight. Some users don't like to wear their Fitbits at night, because they don't like sleeping with something on their wrist. Fitbit's sleep tracking gets good independent reviews. If you aren't wearing it because you want to make sure it resets, there's no need to do this. You aren't getting data that might help you. My Fitbit hasn't failed to reset in almost 10 years.
