My Inspire HR worked great for about 2 years. Yesterday I found that the battery was dead? I charged it to 100%. In about 2 hours it was down to 40%? I tried a restart. Then my screen stopped scrolling. After much frustration I spoke with support. They had me try changing clock face. That seemed to get it started again but I noticed that there isn't a clock face that you can scroll. I still can't get it to keep a charge either. So, I thought about it. If you look at your app updates, there hasn't been any since May 2021. This seems to be the date most are saying they started having problems. My conclusion is, FITBIT did a complete update of this product. They made it faulty and frustrating in hopes people will upgrade. Support really doesn't have any answers. The new program design is bad. I feel on purpose. This makes me not want to buy a new FITBIT. I will look for something else if I decide to continue with this type of tracker. Poor upgrade, poor design, no answers to fix it.

If any company, Fitbit or otherwise, did an update to intentionally break a product to get users to buy a new item, they would be not be in business for long, and any executive who approved that decision would be at risk of going to prison. I myself don't believe the Fitbit management team is intentionally taking such a risk to sell a relatively small number of more trackers, but you might think otherwise.

I agree..but it did recently occur to me that Fitbit could design a tracker that is NOT disposable. Meaning we could just replace a battery to extend the life.
Fitbit seems irresponsible by designing so many Fitbit’s that will end up as garbage in a landfill. To spend almost 300.00 on a wrist watch/tracker only to have to trash it and repurchase every 2 years or so seems so last decade

Possible, but I expect replaceable battery brings other problems, such as making less water-resistant. Also designing insides to be as compact as possible to keep watch small might conflict with making the battery easily accessible without involving other components.
