Will the Fitbit app track elevation in a skiing activity?

Hi all!

I am trying to choose between the Fitbit Versa 2 and the Inspire HR. Considering the fact that the Inspire lacks an altimeter, would it be possible to track elevation through your phone's GPS? Let's say I would go skiing, would I still be able to see the difference in height and accurate tracking of distance and calories with the Inspire?

Thank you 🙂

@sanne-r Welcome back to the Community. I'll be happy to clarify your inquiry about tracking elevation.

When you track a workout using your phone, it will capture your route, distance, pace and more using the GPS sensors on your phone. Learn more about it by checking this article: How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device? However, you'll have three options on your phone which are: run, walk and hike, therefore, it won't accurately track your skiing activity because this option won't be available.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.
