Will unsynced data override what's already in the app?

I bought a Fitbit Inspire as a backup for when my Charge 3 is charging, or for when I don't want to wear a tracker on my wrist (since the inspire has a clip option). I'm wondering: If I allow my son to use the inspire when it's not connected/syncing with my app (since the app won't allow me to have them both connected/syncing at the same time), will steps he accrues then override or merge with the data from my Charge 3 when I swap them out in my Fitbit app? He always wants to wear my Fitbit to see how many steps he can get, so I would love to be able to allow him to use the inspire when I'm not using it but I want to make sure it won't cause issues when I swap it out and sync it with my app.

@A_Wilhelm It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

Thank you for your inquiry. If the Fitbit Inspire isn't linked to your account then the steps won't be synced to your account. Still Fitbit devices should be worn by people 13 years of age and above and if this is the case then an account can be created to link the device.

Let me know how it goes.
