Zeroing in on resting heart rate?

Hello. This is my first Fitbit and I am admittedly quite unfit! I was shocked when my first day of wearing it, it said my resting heart rate was 67! I knew that had to be wrong because never in my life had my resting heart rate been that low (other than right after I had my twins). Then it climbed steadily each day until it reached around 77-79 and it hasn’t hung around in that neighbourhood each day since then (which is more consistent with my fitness level and what I see when I look and I’m “resting.” IS it’s normal foe it to have a sort of zeroing in period? The huge climb isn just kind of alarming to look at, even when i know logically there is no way my resting hr was ever 67! It’s regularly in the low hundreds when’s im barely doing anything,

It can take a few days for resting heart rate to settle down.  For one thing, it takes into account overnight heart rates.  Give it several days before putting much faith into it.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
