counting only 50% of steps

Hello,

Just bought Fitbit Inspire HR. Charged it, registered account and sync'd it to iPhone SE ios 13.5.1

Wearing it for the very first time on non-dominant arm 3 fingers above wristbone.

Walked and counted 106 steps -  but it says I've walked 50 steps. Does Fitbit count steps only once both feet have lifted and touched the ground (ie. every two steps)? Or is there something I can do to make it more accurate?

Many thanks, M.

It should be counting each step. I start out on the left foot and count every right foot. Then multiply by two to get the steps walked.

Put your tracker into its walk mode.

I would do the test a couple of times counting off 100, 200, and 300 steps.

You may find all three are off by 50

Thanks very much for your reply, Rich. I hadn't put it into walk mode - I've got a lot to learn! It also registered some deep sleep while I was awake and working last night, so am going to investigate that next...

All best, M
