fitbit inspire 2 steps don't match miles

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Yesterday my inspire 2 changed the way it calculates my steps into miles.  For instance, 2 days ago 13,210 steps equalled 6.21 miles while yesterday 13,760 steps only equalled 5.01 miles.  Today it seems worse as I have 9,081 steps but it sats only 2.51 miles.  I haven't changed any settings so I'm not sure what is going on.  I tried to get help through chat but they didn't address what was happening.  I did restart the tracker and my phone as well.  Is this happening to anyone else?

@Laurab726 , a warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for reaching out.

When tracking your distance, do you input any activity manually?

Do you use Connected GPS?

If you log anything manually, the amount of steps  (Distance) can be overwritten by your input.

In case you use Connected GPS and the connection gets lost during the activity, the distance measurement can be affected too.

Have you tried setting your stride length manually?

I do not manually log steps but I am connected to my GPS. I don't notice that I am having issues with the GPS- I actually think it was the APP update now. I went onto my dashboard through my computer and I do have quite a bit moderate exercise logged/showing up on my computer. So, I'm not sure why it isn't translating into active minutes because it should be on the APP. I don't really want to manually change my stride length because I don't want to mess something up because I'm hoping fitbit fixes whatever they did.
