how do you turn off light at night?
Can't there be a setting to dim or disable light at a time chosen by us? Or in sleep times? It's waking us up at 5am

Hj @StarP You cant turn the screen off, but you can disable auto screen wake. It will still light in response to bumps or taps but not to wrist turn. On your Inspire HR, do a long press of the button. Then turn off auto screen wake whicn is just below the battery percentage

I ended up returning my band because of this. Light is very shiny and there is no way to dim it. Besides, the screen is too sensitive so any slight contact with your arm, pillow, etc. would be turning on the screen. It’s ridiculous for a $100 band...

That is the only thing I hate about my new Inspire HR.
Seems like you should be able to set a sleep time or DND via the app.
They just need to add the feature. This thing is super bright at night and comes on even with the motion setting turned off.

I disagree...it will light up even without a bump or tap...way too sensitive. I took my back to Best Buy this morning due to this "issue"

The second one has a misleading title (change by a mod). I did not want a bright screen for the Inspire. I wanted screen options.

After having to force myself to be comfortable with the apparent oversensitive step-detection earlier today (yesterday, as it is currently 1am here), I'm now finding myself hating this thing and questioning the design principles of everyone with any clout at Fitbit. They put a movement/touch activated flashlight in their sleep biometric device. Absolutely done. First and last product I will ever buy from them.

My "SIMPLIFIED" sleep results indicate restlessness. If I wore this thing any tighter it would cause numbness.
This dystopic facade of high tech health is imploding. I got this because I can't access healthcare for my congenital heart condition anymore. I guess I'll get a refund and put the $100 towards an eco friendly burial method. Not necessarily a joke now that I think think about it. Kind of a good idea.

Totally agree...sometimes I wonder if the team at Fitbit that design their devices actually use them in real life. For example you can't sync the Inspire device with your iPhone UNLESS you iPhone has a cellular signal even though the two are paired via bluetooth. Quite often I'm Mountain Biking without cell coverage and have never understood why the Inspire couldn't at least sync to my phone.

I also have this problem . I really like this watch, but it wakes me up 3-4 times a night!
A simple solution to this would be an opaque screen cover that snaps over the face of the watch at night... until they figure out the appropriate software solution.
Is anyone aware of a cover like this?

Amazon has clear screen covers for the Inspire HR that appear to be easy to attach and remove. You could put some opaque tape on the cover to block the light from the screen.

Best idea yet! I just ordered a pair, and they’re cheap. I’ll be putting black electrical tape over one to put on at night. It’s hard to track sleep when the tracker keeps waking me up!!!

I put a piece of masking tape over the display at night

I have just purchased an Inspire HR and a Versa 2 for my wife and I. We have been out for long walks, looked at our sleep pattern and our eating habits and everything else these watches do. Considering that both watches only cost a fraction over £200 I am absolutely amazed that so many people are whinging because of all the things their watch can't do. Come on people .... these are fairly cheap devices that are designed to encourage you to exercise and eat properly. If you want to find out how every part of your body works, go and spend a few thousand pounds on a medical device.
Well done Fitbit for designing a device that gives a lot of enjoyment (to me at least) for such a reasonable price.

I hate this, too. I am going to try just putting a wrist "sweat band" over the fitbit at night to see if that works.

You can hold in the side button, then scroll down to screen wake, press it, after that you should have to press button to wake.GOOD LUCK😉
