I took my device off last night. When I put it on it said I had 100 steps. How is that possible? It was sitting on my kitchen counter.

Hi @Andrea7322 -- there are a couple of possibilities having to do with either syncing steps from another source or movement of the tracker. Below are some of the common ones I've seen reported in the forums.

One tracker movement possibility you have probably considered is that someone else in the house picked up and moved it or replaced for some reason before you put it back on in the morning.  One you may not have thought of is vibration on the counter where you left your Fitbit.  In my kitchen that might be a running dishwasher or the garbage disposal.  (Many folks have reported vibration from a fan on a nightstand as being the cause of phantom nighttime steps when they put their fitbit on the same nightstand).

Steps synced from another Fitbit on your account (if you have one) is another possibility.  Also, if you've set up your phone to track steps when you don't have the tracker on, you may have managed to accumulate a few steps carrying the phone into the kitchen before you picked up your Fitbit.
