Did you mean:

manually entering "driving" takes calories away from "biking"

Here is the scenario.... when I bike the fitbit counts the vibration as steps.  So what I do is go in and log that I was "driving" during my bike ride and it negates the steps i didnt take during my ride.  The problem is, when i put in 0 calories for the driving period it also knocks the bike ride calories from (lets say) 800 down to 0.  If i put 800 in the driving calories field, the 800 calories also stays with the bike ride giving me 1600.  Now im not a big calorie tracker, but this is just another irritating glitch that id like to see if anyone has an answer for?

What I dont want to do is have to manually enter both the bike ride, and the "driving".  I bike quite a bit and that would be even more of a hassel than it already is.

thanks

Have you tried to use Bike exercise mode to see what happens?

No difference, unfortunately.  Recently, I've been using bike exercise mode *and* tracking my event with the MapMyFitness app at the same time.  Fitbit records the activity with Steps=N/A, plus distance, duration and calories noted.  It does not exclude the steps during that period from the total.  Fitbit logs the MFM activity with the Steps it recorded, Distance=N/A plus duration and calories noted.  The duplication doesn't seem to affect the total daily calories or other key totals, and I at least get the number of steps I need to manually exclude from the daily total.
