reinstalling fitbit app and restarting fitbit inspire hr

My Inspire HR Fitbit won't sync. I have an android phone. I looked at the trouble shooting information and was wondering if I need to restart my Fitbit or uninstall then reinstall the Fitbit app will my data be lost?  I had an exceptional day yesterday and would be very disappointed if the data was lost.

I need to restart my fitbit inspire hr. I can't get it to come on. I downloaded the app and it was working fine. I was very pleased with the product. It is now off and my phone can't find it. I've tried charging it to make sure that wasn't the issue. When I press the button on the fitbit I get nothing.?
