suddenly won't pair to my bluetooth - takes hours to sync now

As of yesterday, suddenly my bluetooth lost its pairing with my fitbit inspire.  When I go into bluetooth settings on my phone, and click pair to new device, it brings up the Inspire as an available device (ie it finds it), but when I click to pair them, it comes back with a message something like "can't pair due to incorrect key or passkey" .  Since this occurred, it did sync once, but when I try to sync, it just spins and spins.  It says there's a firmware update available, but I can't load it because stuck on screen "looking for fitbit device"

Hi @fkmorel  What phone are you using? Is it on the Supported Devices List?

Dont try and pair through your phones bluetooth settings - they work best if you do it via the Fitbit app.

My suggestion is to go through THIS Help Article on syncing problems. Something in there usually sorts me out when I have problems

Thank you for your informative response. It seems my phone is not
compatible with the Inspire (phone os too new). I had a fitbit zip for a
number of years, and when I upgraded my phone it would no longer sync. So I
bought the Inspire, since it was a fairly new device. It worked fine with
my Bluetooth for the first couple of months, but after a system upgrade to
my phone, the Bluetooth pairing failed. It turns out it's still syncing,
about once a day, when it feels like it (no difference if I ask it to, or
open all-day sync), and I guess I have to live with that. I love the
Inspire, it's the only fitbit I would consider because it works with a
waistband clip (I am not interested in having anything on my wrist). When I
look at the compatible devices, it's obvious Fitbit is behind the curve with
newer devices, so even if I bought a laptop or tablet, it would probably be
too new and not compatible. My desktop is too old, the Windows 10 update
wouldn't load. The real downside is I can't load the firmware upgrade to my
Inspire. So I guess I'll live with it as is, until they come out with a
newer version of the Inspire that is compatible with my phone, then I'll
replace the fitbit. Thanks again for responding to my inquiry. You were
much more helpful than Fitbit tech support.
