nothing is working - steps weren't registering this morning on my wrist device so I put it in walk mode and carried my phone around -steps didn't register but distance did - then I did the update and I am now getting the above message - the app won't open on my iphone at all now and the app store isn't even giving me the option of buying it.
how can I fix this and get my fitbit to work again?

I still can't sync with my iPhone since the app kicks me out and that message pops up.

I just had this problem... had to uninstall the App (and delete data). Re-installed App and had to set up device again. A pain as all settings (like notifications) are lost, but at least the problem is fixed.

I ended up calling support- I had to uninstall and then reinstall the app. It synched right up to my device and is working fine now .
Annoying, but easy fix.

Sounds deleting and reinstalling is the way to go. Sucks to lose the data. I wonder why we’re having this issue? Thanks for the help.

To make sure your data is preserved, you can try “offloading” the app and reinstalling (instead of deleting):
Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Fitbit > Offload App
This worked fine for me.

I deleted the Fitbit app and reinstalled but when I try to logon, it just spins

After restarting my phone, I was able to get into the app but it is not syncing.

It's clearly a new iOS/App Store bug with the recent iOS 13.5 release. Some common apps that may run into issue in iOS 13.5 are Fitbit, YouTube, Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook, TikTok, LastPass, and more. What finally solved my problem was to Open Settings > General > iPhone Storage > scrolling down to the app "Fitbit" and selecting > "Offload App" and then reinstalling it.
This did not delete my Fitbit information as per the offload feature, and I no longer gets the error. I hope this helps others struggling with the issue especially after an update. 🙂
