2 and a half year old Versa 2 failing

The screen is either white, black or finely granulated tan horizontal lines that flicker.  Sometime it displays almost normally but the colors are off.  I guess it needs replacing.  Customer service somewhat misleading but I knew it was out of warranty.  I just wanted a diagnosis so it could be fixed or replaced.  It still communicates with the app.  I’m getting another Versa 2 because I like my band and don’t want to purchase another charger.  It is so hard to get a Milanese band in my small wrist size and the newer models won’t accept the older chargers and bands.  Besides I don’t think the newer model will have overcome the Versa 2 shortcomings on swim workouts.  The Versa 1 was better but the 2 was a step down.

@Elanhui One of my Versa 1's had screen issues as well. I think all we can do is try restarting or resetting, although I think it's more a hardware issue and resetting likely won't do much. If they offered you the 35% discount, you could get another Versa 2 for $117. That's not bad at all. But from what's been said on the forums, if you have issues, the replacement with be a referb.

They took so long to get back to me with the offer that I had purchased another Versa 2 from that company named after a large South American river and was programming the new one when Fitbit finally sent me an offer with the discount which I would have taken advantage of had it come within the promised time frame of one hour rather that a day later.  I suppose 2.5 years is a good life span for tech with planned obsolescence but it would have been nice to know the expected life spans of these.  Come to think of it, this failed Versa 2 was less than 2.5 years old because the original purchase failed in a different way within the first year and had been replaced by Fitbit.  Their customer service can be quite good in some instances.
