2 versa fit bits with widely different resuts

I walk with my daughter who just got a Fitbit versa 2 for Christmas. Her log is always about a 1/2 mile off from mine. Her stride is 26 and mine is 25. Today’s miles were 2.33 for me and 1.76 for her.  We literally walk together.  What could be the issue?  I have a 2 year old Versa.

I assume neither of you were connected to your phone's GPS, right?

Did either of you actually measure your stride lengths or just go with the default that was set by Fitbit?  Fitbit sets a default stride length based on height, etc but that's just an estimate.  If you have a place with a known distance, such as a quarter mile track, check stride length there and adjust as described in links above.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
