20 floors were logged after I did elliptical

I did the elliptical last night and it logged I did 20 floors. I did the exact same thing this morning on the elliptical and it logged I did only 1 floor. What’s happening?

Hey @Lkang03, it is nice to see new faces around! Woman Happy Ok, let me explain to you how Fitbit devices track floors. Your Versa detects floors using an altimeter, which is a sensor that calculates altitude based on atmospheric pressure. Though your device is designed to look for pressure changes based on elevation gains, pressure changes due to other causes—such as a gust of wind, a weather change, or opening a door—can occasionally cause your device to register extra floors. detects floors using an altimeter, which is a sensor that calculates altitude based on atmospheric pressure. Though your device is designed to look for pressure changes based on elevation gains, pressure changes due to other causes—such as a gust of wind, a weather change, or opening a door—can occasionally cause your device to register an extra floor or two. Another factor is floor height. Your device registers one floor when you’ve gone up about ten feet, which is the average between residential and commercial floor heights. If you climb long staircases you may find that the device's floor count doesn’t match how many floors you’ve gone up since the staircase was taller than ten feet. So that being said, my question is, were you closed to a fan or something that creates a gust of wind that had made your Versa counted extra floors that you actually did not climb? If so, remember that those factors affect the floors tracked.

However if you'd want to, you can negate those floors by logging a driving activity. Just follow the instructions in this help article to do so .

Detailed explanation. If you are walking climbing a hill or a small upwards road maybe also count some floors?

I hope you are doin' fine today @mikecyprus! Well, based on my experience, the Charge 2 has tracked floors when I run/walk uphills, because of the changes that it detects in the atmospheric pressure when you go up. So you can expect to see a few floors when doing this. Don't you worry my friend. 😉
