2nd Versa screen gone black - conspiracy theory as to why it happens

I got a Versa back in April, the screen went dead after less than 2 months. I used it for alarm in the morning and I had a black unicorn clock face on it.

The morning the screen died I noticed the alarm wouldn't turn off on my phone despite pressing the button.

Fast forward 3 months and I am on my second watch. Last week the heart rate and sleep functions stopped working, condensation in behind the sensor. Flagged with Fitbit and replacement is on it's way to me.

Now here is where the coincidence occurs, this morning, the alarm wouldn't turn off on my phone despite pressing the button. Then an hour or so later on I notice I have the black screen of death.

Watch is still vibrating and working but no screen so no amount of resets will work as you can't see the logo to know when to release buttons or to select the factory reset option.

So perhaps black unicorn watch faces and the alarm function kills of the Versa who knows???

Hi, Unicorn CF's are Third Party CF's and can act sometimes weird, certainly when the CF is not updated by the developer. I would advice you to install a CF developed by Fitbit itself, restart your Versa and see if the problem is solved. I know you stated that restarting is not possible, but is it possible to go to the settings, press it and scroll down to shutdown and press it. If that works, press the left button to restart your Versa and change the CF. If that does not work, contact Customer Support. Regards kuzibri

The watch has completely died now there is no power getting to and from what I can make out nothing is flickering on the back so I'll just wait for the replacement.
