2nd hand versa 2 not charging

As title states, I was gifted a used versa 2, no charger had to get one off Amazon but I've had it charging from 1:30 pm till now 5:50pm. It won't turn on even if I hold the button down. Is it just a fancy paper weight now? Or is there something else i can do? I've cleaned it before I started charging it, I've now tried changing plug ins

Hello @l1umen and welcome to the Community.  Please try cleaning the contacts on the back of your Fitbit with a toothbrush, if you haven't.  There might be debris on the contacts.  Fitbit recommends plain water.  If that doesn't help, then I suspect the battery is dead.
