30 minute exercise credit

If I break my exercise into 10 or 15 minute increments, my Versa Lite will show that I have reached 30 minutes of exercise. When I check my I Pid at the end of day it only shows one increment, not my total 30 minutes.

Can you specify exactly where you are seeing these numbers, and what the fields are labelled as.

For instance, are you talking about Active Zone Minutes or workout summary, which place?

Workout Summary.  My Fitbit will buzz and show 30 minutes of exercise, but when I check my stats on my I Pod it might only show the first increment of minutes exercising, in my case walking. I sync  my Fitbit several times a day. I know I’m doing the exercise but it doesn’t always show and affects my weekly total 🤷‍:female_sign:

I think your confusion comes from different ways to measure amount of exercise.  And there are variables about your setup that I don't know;  are you using Active Minutes or Zone Minutes?  Do you count on auto-recognition of your exercise, or use the Exercise App?

First let's look at your 30 minute notification.  That sounds like your daily goal of either Active Minutes or Zone Minutes.  I thought Versa Lite had switched to Zone Minutes, but 30 minutes I think is the default daily goal for Active Minutes.  Active minutes require at least 10 minutes of continuous exercise of a certain intensity.

Now for your workout summary minutes, I am guessing you are relying on auto-recognition of exercise rather than using the Exercise App and telling it when you start and stop your workout.  With auto-recognition, the default minimum time is 15 minutes, though you can change that from 10-90 minutes. So, using the default for auto-recognition, if you took a 15-minute walk; then took 2 separate 10 minute walks, they might all earn you "Active Minutes" but only the 15 minute one would count as a "workout" to show up with an exercise summary.

If you want to make sure you get an exercise summary for each walk, record it with the Exercise App on the tracker, telling it when you start and end.  Everything recorded with the exercise app gets counted as a "workout' and gets an exercise summary.

Totally confused yet?  If you are actually on Zone Minutes instead on Active Minutes, there is no 10 minute minimum to count as Zone Minutes, but the required intensity level is greater.

So which should you be concerned with, workout summary minutes, or Active Minutes (or Zone Minutes)?  Whichever you want.  Active Minutes (or Zone Minutes) are based on CDC and Heart Association recommendations and are useful for general health.  Exercise summary minutes are more valuable for personal fitness goals such as trying to improve your times for a set distance, or keeping track of how intense your workouts were.
