8mo Versa Died Suddenly at 70% - Won't Turn Back On

Hi All,

I charged up my Versa this morning (8 or 9am) to 100%.

The last time I checked the time on it was around 6:45pm, and then about an hour ago I went to again and it won't turn on at all (roughly 9pm). The battery should have still been around 70-75% at that point (at least), and I was sitting at my desk for that duration working on my computer, so not doing anything that would have aggressively drained it. I've read other forums about having to re-set the device, and I've tried that three times now (holding down the three buttons, I also had it on the charger for 45min before the last attempt), but it will not light up or turn on at all.

Are there any other things that I should try before calling in to customer service? I'm a little bummed since I wear this as my everyday watch, and I've only had it for around 8mo. I switched from a Blaze that I had for over two years with zero issue. I got the Versa as a gift, and I know it wasn't purchased directly through Fitbit so I doubt there's warranty on it, which truly sucks because I loved using this and there's no way I can afford a new one as a grad student.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi @risliftsalot  Support should be able to tell you if there is a warranty on your device as long as it came from an authorized retailer.

Call customer support. Their phone number is (877)623-4997 between the hours of 4am-8pm PST Mon-Fri, and 6am-5pm PST on weekends, if you're in the USA. If you're not in the USA or if you prefer an online chat or email, then click for contact options

I sent an email to the team before posting in the forum, but I'll give them a call tomorrow as well.

Thanks for the response.

I have the same story. They had me do a battery drain test and identified a bad battery, they were able to get information when I synced it like techs do for remote electronic repairs. Anyway, they sent me a replacement but although I got a text it was delivered tonight it can’t be found. I did notice in your post that you were incorrectly resetting. You only hold down the left one and BOTTOM right not all three.

Customer Service are very nice and try to take care of us. I have dealt with them since I got the very first fitbit on the market and it still works.

That was the way I originally tried to reset it (with just the two buttons), but I then found another post which stated to try all three, which I then tried, but both to no avail. It's good to know they can do a remote battery test.

Hope you find your replacement.

Thanks for the reply! Sorry you also dealt with this.
