My Versa keeps track of over arm perfectly but flatly refuses to acknowledge backstroke, any clues?

Hi, the only thing I can think of is that a backstroke is an unusual movement for the Versa to detect. Normally the Versa detects steps, etc whilst your arms make a for- and backward movement, which is contrary to the backstroke.
