Ability to Repair Versa

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

If you crack the screen of your Versa, the only way to have a Versa with a not-cracked screen in the future is to purchase a new one.

It would be good to be able to have a Versa repaired.

Mine is cracked as well and this is not what I was hoping to hear. Smiley Sad

I crashed on my bicycle Saturday and my screen hit on the corner. I've submitted my first ever claim with Chase's purchase protection insurance. It's supposed to cover all purchases for 120 days against loss/theft/damage of pretty much any type. We'll see how this goes.P1010981.JPG

I ended up getting a check from my credit card (Chase Sapphire Preferred) for the full price I paid for my Versa. Great benefit!

At this point, I own a cracked, but still working, Versa. I haven't decided yet whether to use my check to buy a new one or not. It's really going to depend on them fixing any of the outstanding issues everyone knows about, some of which should be really simple to fix in software:

Connected GPS is fundamentally flawed.

Forgets custom stats settings.

And I don't know if software can fix it, but the heart rate monitoring definitely has issues.

Come on guys, you sold over 2 million of these things. You can afford to hire a programmer or two.

At the cost of a Versa, Fitbit considers repairs to be not worth it.  A new device is the only solution right now.

It’s disappointing too because you pay so much money for one but if/when it breaks or is faulty they replace it with a new one and tell you to throw the other one away.

my Versa was purchased 3 days ago and it was glitching and pushing buttons and swiping all on its own. I contacted customer support and they were so incredibly helpful and really patient but they couldn’t fix my Versa. In the end I got an email saying that they had sent another tracker out and that it should arrive in next 3 days and that I can, in simple terms (not a quote) throw the faulty one away.

it seems such a waste - I don’t feel comfortable throwing this away. It costs a lot to buy one but it breaks its virtually worthless...

I have a cracked screen too.

So far in all the post, there is no solution to a cracked Fitbit versa screen. There are a few viable options other than getting a new Versa.

Which I will recommend getting another brand!

Simple method to remove scratches

Fitbit Versa Tear down

The issue here is that I can't find the Fitbit Versa replacement screen - so it doesn't make sense remove the broken screen/glass - unless I can get a replacement.

So I am still stuck at the broken screen!

Alternative if your glass is still viewable is to place a tempered glass over the cracked glass just to use the Fitbit versa.

Anyone with better options let us know!!!

Fitbit versa teardown. Looks like this is the first true teardown of the Fitbit Versa. I had an issue with my unit so I got a replacement. I was told to recycle the old one but I decided instead to take it apart and see what made it tick. I was surprised to see that I needed to use a fine nail ...

Fitbit and NEVER repaired any of it's devices.

They are considered disposable.

This has been my frustration. the cost of this thing is $200.  I don't know about you but I don't feel after having purchased in April 2018 and having the original Versa dead in Oct and getting Fitbit under warranty to replace it that I would want to shell out another $200 for a cracked screen.  I am reaching out to HSN to see if they can help and they can't as I didn't get the extended warranty.  But I will just keep what I have. I can see the screen and it still functions.  I can't understand why no repair shop even if I had to pay.

>> Forgets custom stats settings.

Yeah - that's really silly and unnecessary! They should roll out a sw patch JUST TO FIX THIS.

>> And I don't know if software can fix it, but the heart rate monitoring definitely has issues.

Something has happened after the Charge 2 (which was very reliable imho) with the new series of devices. It definitively has unacceptable issues.

You never mentioned the syncing issues 🙂 I think they need double up their embedded sw team 😉

I am fed up with my Versa.  Cracked screen and can't get it fixed.  Now lost in my house and unable to set an alarm or do anything to help me find it from the app.  I am done with Fitbit.  I loved how it worked and that it would sync with my ww app.  Not getting another one since cannot be repaired and cannot be located.
