About to get a Versa 2. Before I get it, I have several questions.

Sorry, this topic is probably TL;DR material for some of you.

Hello everyone. My direct superior at my job wanted me to select what I wanted for Christmas out of a selection of gifts. The list included cash, gift cards for massage splaces, and some electronic stuff. What caught my attention was the Fitbit Versa 2. Not knowing what it can do, but having wanted a smartwatch for a while, I decided to choose that.

I made some research and found out how it's mainly fitness focused (given the name of the company, that's pretty much a given. However, there are somethings I found out about it that, while I found interesting, got me confused, mainly because I simply never owned a smartwatch (I dind't even try a demo or something) I got most of the fitness part figured out, so my questions are reguarding the other features. Sorry for the potential (and extremly) noobish questions.

1-About Spotify: So I follow the instructions to link my Versa 2 to my Spotify account using the app on my phone (if that changes anything, I'm using an iPhone X, the one released in 2017). I am aware that my phone has to be connected to the internet (Via Wi-Fi of cellular data) but can I still use the Watch's Spotify app to play the music that's downloaded on my iPhone (I mean, the music I downloaded through spotify, not the the music I bought on iTunes or downloaded on my PC then transfered to my phone)

2-Again, about Spotify: Once my Versa 2 is linked to my Spotify account, and is in a working environment (Phone connected to the internet), I'm guessing I cannot create playlists on the Watch, but can i fully switch my playlist around using my phone? Example: I started to listen an album from artist A, but after a while, I want to listen to an album from artist B, assuming I have a playlist with artist A and another with artist B, can I switch between them using my watch, or will I have to grab my phone and switch from there?

3-Regarding music, but not Spotify: I am aware that I can install up to 300 songs directly on the Versa 2 (Assuming I didn't misunderstood). But is there a way to control the ''basic'' music player on my phone (wether it's my iPhone or another phone I may get later on) or is it strictly Spotify and the songs installed on the Watch?

4-Alexa: So apparently, the Versa 2 has Alexa built in. I was told by a video that she doesn't talk back to you via speaker, but will still answer your request with an on-screen message. Given that Alexa is Amazon's version of Siri, do I get ANYTHING by being an Amazon Prime member?

5-Something I quite couldn't understand: I seem to recall that you can look at the e-mail and text messages you received. How to I link my phone number and e-mail adress to the Versa 2?

6-Last question, I swear!:I tend to always let my iPhone in silent mode, meaning that it will usually not even vibrate when I receive a call. Can the Versa 2 warn me via vibration or on-screen alert that I'm receiving a phone.

So sorry for these questions. I prefer to look like an idiot now, but figure out how things work before I get the Watch, than get the watch later, feel like an idiot and spend hours figuring out what I couldn't find, or understand, on the internet.

Thanks in advance for your patience and answers. And I wish you a wonderful day.

I'll try to give a partial answer.  There are some I don't know, and I don't use iPhone so not familiar with that part, but:

Spotify: First, you must have a Spotify premium account to use this feature.  I haven't used this but basically this lets you do user controls from wrist rather than from phone.  I don't know any specifics about which controls you can do.

The other 2 music apps, Pandora and Deezer, with Premium memberships, let you store playlists on the V2, but not Spotify.

Amazon Prime does not give you any advantage here.

For phone and text messages, and I expect for email though I haven't used this, your tracker is connected to your phone via bluetooth so that's how it knows you, not by your phone # or email address.  So you need to be within bluetooth range of your phone to get these.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

There is a way to control the stock music player on your phone, but it's temperamental to the point of being useless.  This is one area where Fitbit fails miserably, though it's never been an issue for most people because most headphones have music controls built into them.  If I need to play something specific while I'm running, I just tell Google Assistant to play it.
