Account totally wiped after phone reset

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I had to reset my phone and since then, my Fitbit account has been totally wiped and I have had to create a new one.

I have contacted Fitbit Customer Services and they say they cannot locate anything under my email address, which I have used for years for my Fitbit account, so I have lost years worth of data.

I have since reset my Fitbit but that hasn't solved anything.

Has anyone else had anything like this happen? I'm gutted that all of my data has gone and I find it bizarre there nothing exists anymore under my email address.

Hi @L4UR48

Sorry to hear that, I can understand how that must feel.

This is obvious, but is there any chance you used a different email address, or changed the email address at some point on Fitbit's site?

If you go to the Dashboard link at the top of this page, are you able to see any of your old data?

Hi

I have only ever used the same email address for my account, which is why I just find it so bizarre that this has happened and all of a sudden there is no trace of my details etc. All of my weekly progress emails etc have been getting sent there and all queries prior to this I have had directly with Fitbit too.

My dashboard only shows my data from when I had to create a new account last week.

I have a feeling that there is no chance anything can be recovered now.

Thanks

Every Monday you should have been receiving weekly updates from Fitbit. The header of these emails will contain the email address of the Fitbit account.

Now when it comes to the Fitbit account, all the data is stored in the cloud, not on the phone.

The simple answer is that you where not able to log in to your Fitbit account. We just need to figure out what the email address was. It might be that there was a mistake in your initial typing.

Anyway, now that the same tracker is connected to your account. I would contact Fitbit again, if necessary tell them you want this escalated. They should be able to track the history of this unit.

If you have ever logged into the old Fitbit account through your web browser. The browser might have saved the log in details. Under the browser settings - Passwords you may find your answer.

Thank you for your message.

I have just found an email where the email address on my account was changed, so looks like it was hacked!

I have sent a screenshot to Fitbit customer services, so hopefully they can sort this for me now.
