Hi.

My Versa watch seems to be counting my calorie burn even while the watch it not on me. Is that accurate?? The main reason I purchased the watch was for the calorie count, and I feel like it is giving me an inaccurate reading therefore my calorie in verses calorie out is calculated incorrectly. Please assist

It may be working ok.

As well as tracking calories burned through activity your fitbit also tracks your BMR calories. These are the calories you burn just keeping your body alive (even when asleep). They are calculated from your profile settings for age, height, weight etc so you needn't be wearing your fitbit to get them. What you are seeing for the calorie burn includes the total BMR calories burned since midnight

My New Versa 2 does not seem to count calories accurately.  I started with fresh factory restart and install and when it starts up it shows 858 calories and no steps.  I reset again and the same thing occurs (tried different user etc.)  The calorie count is different when it starts but it is 500+ and no steps.  Any assistance?

Those will be your BMR calories. See my previous post in this thread.
