I am not happy with the new active zone
minutes on my Versa 2 following the latest firmware update.
I walk a lot but my HR never goes above 100-105bpm (and even for that I have to walk very fast). Fitbit increased my Fat Burn zone lower limit from 93 to 109bpm. So a 2 hours walk at medium pace results in zero active zone minutes...it’s very demotivating going from 5-600 active minutes a week to not even reaching the recommended 150 minutes in the new active zone minutes...I am not going to run every day and very few activity get my HR into cardio zone.
The other thing I don’t understand is that I swim regularly and take my Versa with me even though I know that heart rate readings are unreliable under water.
I didn’t pay much attention to the readings but I never got any minutes in cardio zone (>133bpm in the old system). Since the firmware upgrade I went swimming twice and on both occasions Fitbit tells me that I spent 30 active zone minutes in cardio, which is rather strange as the sensor on the watch is the same...I do believe my HR goes into cardio zone if I push it hard, but in the past two years I have never seen any minutes in cardio during swimming (I had a Versa 1 and since March I have a Versa 2).
Has anything changed on how Versa 2 measures HR under water?
