Active minutes not correlating to exercise

I've had a couple of different fitbits but have only noticed this issue with the Versa. I will have over 30 active minutes but it's not counting it as exercise, any ideas on why?

For example, this week I have had the following stats:

SUN: 28474 steps, 157 active minutes, 1 day of exercise counted

MON: 13338 steps, 81 active minutes, no day of exercise counted

TUE: 8376 steps, 32 active minutes, no day of exercise counted

(I have mine set to 8000 steps, not 10000 BTW)

Thanks for any help, it is much appreciated!

1. For auto-recognizing exercise, on phone app, click on exercise tile, then gear icon near top right.  Check the amount of time for each auto-recognized exercise for it to count as "exercise", and adjust lower if want to see more recognized.

2.  The best way to track exercise session is to use the exercise app, starting and stopping each exercise session manually, and giving it the label you want rather than relying on fitbit to accurately recognize your activity.

You only mention steps and active minutes. So I'm assuming you want to see walking exercises? If you go into your account and click exercise, it'll show the auto recognized options. Click on walk, and it might say 15 minutes of walking is auto recognized. Therefore, you'd pretty much have to be walking non stop for 15 minutes for that to count as exercise. Active.minutes count at 10 minutes, so that's how you can be getting active minutes without exercise. You could lower auto recognize to 10 minutes . Or pay more attention and keep moving at least 15 minutes.
