Activity stats not showing in app or on watch

I can no longer see my 7 day activity stats on my app nor are they being recorded on my watch. I swim and like to see the positive impact it has on my health.

Which mode, manual - auto detect, are you using.

Do you manualy put the watch into its swim mode? 

Do you simply start swimming and relying on Fitbit to detect that your swimming?

When you go swimming

Do you put your tracker into its swimming mode? 

Or do you jump in and swim. Doing nothing special with your tracker, letting Fitbit decide what is happening.
