Is fitbit ever gonna add major banking institutions for Canada in the wallet, or should I be looking for a different watch to buy alltogether?

Hi there, @Ahields81. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Please note Fitbit has offered the tools to allow a bank to make their credit cards available on Fitbit Pay. Then, it's up to each bank to take the next step in connecting their cards to Fitbit.

If you don’t see your bank on the list, you can contact your bank in a private communication or on social media and tell them that you want to use Fitbit Pay to make contactless payments from your Fitbit device. Ask your bank to see www.fitbit.com/fitbit-pay. However, it’s up to the bank to decide if they want to support Fitbit Pay.

None of the moblie phone, or other watches that my wife and I have purchased have I ever had to approach my banking institutions to ask them to add their cards to my wallet function, so in other words fitbit wants its customers who have bought their products to do the leg work of recruiting the banks for them?

@Ahields81   A bank must make a financial investment to bring in the system that creates the virtual credit card for Fitbit Pay, or any other mobile pay platform.  I contacted my US bank, one of the top 30 largest banks in the US -- and it doesn't participate in Fitbit Pay.  I got a very polite response saying that because they participate in the major phone platforms (Google, Apple, and Samsung Pay), they have no plans to participate in Fitbit Pay.  The US bank list looks really long.  I estimated about 1000 banks.  The US has over 11,000 banks, meaning most don't participate.  I hope this perspective helps you understand the nuances of Fitbit Pay.  It's a very small fish in the pond.
