I would like more minutes options in the running side of the exercise app, I increase my runs one minute at a time according to my running plan, but the running part of the app only allows 5 min increments, which leaves me to use the timer app instead. Auto recognize kicks in for running but it won't use the GPS, and there is no option to turn it on, I don't know why you guys thought that was a good idea to not let that be an option, and sometimes Auto recognize does not work reliably and I can't look at the exercise app when I have the timer going. Don't know why you guys force the apps to stay on top all of the time. Smart phones don't work like that why do this to the smart watch. Blame Gboard terrible swipe recognition for any odd words.

Hello @CenturionG4 and a warm welcome. I have a suggestion that might help you, but I don't think it is a perfect answer. In the settings within the Run choice on the Versa itself, there is an option called Run Detect. You find it on the watch by tapping on Exercise > Run > Gear (Settings) > Run Detect > turn it on. You can start your timer, then start running. The down side is the time it takes for your GPS to connect. With a previous firmware, I connected in about 30 seconds. Now it can be over a minute, but you do get a map.
I said this wouldn't be perfect. But, it helps get past the limitation that the exercise app must run in the foreground.
See if you like it.
