Alexa is a bit of gimmick

I found Alexa in the watch is really not much more than a gimmick.   The reason is the network range of the watch is extremely poor.  Every other time I try to use it, the watch will complain it is not connected to the internet.   Even though I have smart devices installed all over my house than maintain a connection 24x7.

I also find useful features like "announce" are not supported.   I have an Alexa in every room.  But I thought the Alexa in the watch would be useful for when I want to whisper to avoid waking anyone at night, or when I'm outside the house.  Yet, I found myself standing outside my door trying to announce I needed someone to unlock it, yet the announce wouldn't work even after I tried enough times to connect.

Then of course I pulled out my phone and used that.  My phone of course works just fine for these things.

I believe  Alexa on the Versa 2 goes directly to phone and uses Alexa app on phone to do anything, so it's a matter of having phone within bluetooth range of you, though that might not explain all 'not connected to internet' errors.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
